Where: Camp Dearborn, 1700 General Motors Road, Milford, Michigan 48380
When: Saturday, May 17, 2008 - Noon to 4 PM
Over 130 vintage trailers and motor coaches participated in the Tin Can Tourists, The North American Vintage Trailer and Motor Coach Concours this past Saturday at Camp Dearborn, Milford, Michigan
The trailers and motor coaches were judged in four classes:
Best in Show: 1963 Yellowstone owned by Dean and Linda Apple of Dixon, Illinois
Reserve Best in Show: A British Thompson Caravan owned by Carl and Bobby Clark of Colborn Ontario
Best in Show: 1978 GMC owned by Bob and Rita Meredith of Cumberland, Maryland
Reserve Best in Show: 1985 Tiffin Allegro owned by Jerry Cooper and Day Dobson of White Lake, Michigan
Best in Show: 1948 Spartan Manor owned by Bob Bergman and Doreen Bailey of Lake Orion, Michigan
Reserve Best in Show: 1961 Airstream Bambi owned by Tom & Sue Davis of Delaware, Ohio
Best in Show: 1932 Rear Porch owned by Chuck and Diane Schnieder of Lapeer, Michigan
Reserve Best in Show: 1974 Argosy 24 owned by James and Jeannie Pender of Fort Wayne, Indiana
Best in Show: 1946 Spartan Manor and Pontiac owned by Brian and Kim McCool of Delton, Michigan
Reserve Best in Show: 1961 Airstream Bambi and Chevy SS owned by Ken and Petey Faber of Wyoming, Michigan
Awesome Interior Awards were presented to Bob Bergman and Doreen Bailey of Lake Orion Michigan for their 1948 Spartan Manor and to Hardy and Terry Evans of Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin for their 1999 Hardy built Wayzalot
In addition to the above, Tin Can Tourists awarded Special Interest Awards to Dan Hershberger and Maura Johnson for their 1927 Auto Camp Trailer and period camping equipment. The GM Heritage Collection displayed at 1925 Chevy House Car that has been beautifully restored. Thanks to Dick & Lynn Balsley of Shelby Township for facilitating the display.
