When: October 9-11, 2015
Where: John Gurney Park in Hart, MI
Join us October 9th, 10th and 11th for one more campout with your vintage trailer friends at John Gurney Park in Hart, MI. This campground sits on the edge of the city of Hart and Pentwater River north of Muskegon. This historic campground offers an unique camping experience within walking distance of restaurants, shops, a bakery and a hardware store. It is only a short drive to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes and easy access to the Hart/Montague Trail which is a 30 mile paved non-motorized trail. There are also local orchards, pumpkin patches, and a dairy store/restaurant in the nearby towns.
One aspect of this unique camping experience is the historical lodge at the park where we can gather for meals and fun. While this is an un-heated building, there is a large stone fireplace that we will maintain a crackling fire in to keep us warm and cozy. With fall weather being unpredictable this is also a great place to keep dry during the day if it is raining and we can play cards, do puzzles etc. Some firewood will be provided, but if you have some extra please bring it as we will likely utilize it with the upcoming chilly nights.
The creators of this event truly want to have a calm enjoyable weekend. There is no time schedule and there is no open house for this event. This is not a rally, and there is no fee for this event, the only cost to you is your campsite fee.
This is the general outline of the weekend. You can participate as little or as much as you would like:
Friday evening we are having a soup and chili supper. I am bringing a very large pot of chili, feel free to gather in the lodge with your own tableservice and beverage. Bring a salad, or dessert or some type of dish to pass.
Saturday morning, Cullen will get the coffee on. There is a place where people can bring their electric skillet if they would like to cook eggs or pancakes or breakfast meat. Bring your own table service and some breakfast item to share
Saturday afternoon enjoy your favorite Pure Michigan activity or take a nap or visit with friends whatever suits you. There is a tennis court/ pickle ball, shuffleboard and basketball court at the park. If weather permits we will be caravaning out to the Silver Lake Sand Dunes in the late afternoon/early evening for a dune climb. After that we will return to the campground for cider pressing. This is your opportunity to drink the best cider your taste buds can imagine!
Saturday evening bring out your favorite dish to pass for a shared supper in the lodge... Fingers crossed Bruce will be successful at salmon fishing and we will have some fish with supper
Sunday morning bring a breakfast item to the potluck. If you don't feel like cooking fresh fruit is always a hit.
The park is so excited to have us that if we run out of water and electric sites they are going to have some electric sites available. There is a very clean bath house at this park. For more information you can check out their website www.johngurneypark.com
Or you can call 231-873-4959 please ask for Nancy. It is better to call to make reservations rather than making online reservations so that the staff can best accomodate everyone

Falluminum in the North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains
When: October 23-25, 2015
Where: Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Campground in Hiawassee Georgia
The TCT is invited to this event that is held annually for the past 15 years, the Falluminum Rally began as an alternative get together for people who simply love to camp with other camping enthusiasts. With "no rules, no dues, no rally fees, only fun allowed" the event has become well attended each October on the weekend before Halloween.
Situated at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Campground in Hiawassee Georgia, the beautiful park located on scenic Lake Chatuge. Surrounded by the Blue Ridge mountains, and bathed in Fall colors, this Rally is host to a wide assortment of vintage ( and some newer) campers.
Simply go to the GeorgiaMountainFairgrounds.com web site or call (706) 896-4191 for reservations. Sites cost $32 to $35.00 a night and many are lakefront. All sites have some lake views.
October 23-25 weekend are the dates for Fall 2015.
The event includes a pot-luck brunch and dinner Saturday, a "Tour of Homes" for those who would like to see inside the campers and share theirs.
A gift exchange where if you " bring one you get one" happens just after the Sat. dinner. A music jam for interested musicians, dancers and listeners is held later after dinner Saturday, led by a former Nashville recording artist with two gold albums to his credit.
Campfires and trailer talk all weekend. Kayaking and canoeing is encouraged
and the nearby Bavarian town of Helen is always fun to visit.
Contact and/or RSVP to Alan David at email@example.com for more information or simply register and show up for an enjoyable time. We encourage dogs, kids, bikes, and love vintage campers!
